I hope to build this into a list of basic and fundamental principles and practices for happy living. They are in no particular order, just listed as I come up with them or as people share them with me. Check often as I update them sporadicly. Here they are…
Do not carry your past to your future, especially when it is not your present.
People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Do not confuse them. Do not hold on when it is time to let go and do not let go when you must hold on.
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
“Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.”
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
“A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong it is until it’s in hot water.”
Love is both an adjective and a verb. You need each to reinforce the other.
Every day is a terrible day for a miserable person, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.
An apology means nothing when you keep doing what you apologized for.
“Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone”
Forgiveness is not for the other person; it is for you.
